Champions 2011
Winners: Carey Baptist College (from left to right), DavidJames Atkinson, Amy Clark, Catelyn O’Donnell, Katie Marshall.
The Numero® Interschool Secondary Competition for 2011 was held at Carey Baptist College, with students from Years 8 to 10 competing. This competition is slowly growing in size, with another school competing in 2011, and more planning to join in 2012. Eighteen teams competed, from five schools, and the day was a huge success.
R.I.C. donated a $500 gift voucher for educational supplies to the winning school and this was again won by Carey Baptist College. Their name continues to be the only one on the Frank Drysdale Perpetual Trophy to date, with other schools now desperate to take their ‘crown’.
This year’s event was tinged with both sadness and pride, due to the recent passing of Frank Drysdale, creator of Numero®. This competition carries his name and Frank was acknowledged for the incredible gift of Numero® to education throughout Australia and the world, and the money raised for Alzheimer’s research and care.
A big thank you to Carey Baptist College for hosting the event this year, and to their staff and students for the donation of a wonderful morning tea. We also thank the other participating schools of Melville Senior High School, Rossmoyne Senior High School, St Hilda’s Anglican Girls School and our new school this year, St Stephen’s School (Carramar).
The Numero® Team
A special thank you to our team of ladies who act as officials at this event each year, as without them none of this would happen.
